Después del timo de la estampita, llega...

Cosas veredes, amigo Sancho, cosas veredes. La semana pasada encontré a una señora en las calles de mi santa ciudad intentando el timo de la estampita, y ahora me encuentro con esta versión sofisticada del asunto.

Remite el correo un tal Mr. John Percy, con el asunto: THIS IS YOUR SCAM VICTIMS COMPENSATION PAYMENT. Así, en mayúsculas. Semejante falta de netiqueta  ya indica bastante poca profesionalidad. Impresión que se refuerza cuando ves que alguien que dice hablar en nombre de la Western Union tiene una dirección de gmail (transferwesternunionmoney98@gmail.com). El "98" le da un aire muy cani, como si la dirección no fuera ya lo bastante sospechosa.

Y ahora, fijaos en el contenido del mensaje. Telita marinera:

Una breve búsqueda en google sobre la oficina de Benin nos da como resultado cientos de quejas de usuarios acerca de este correo.

La verdad es que es ingenioso. A todos nos han intentado colar la del príncipe nigeriano, el devoto musulmán de nombre hebreo, la gran oferta de trabajo o la del héroe de guerra. Así que por si acaso alguno ha caído, esta "buena gente" le ofrece su ayuda. ¡Pero no se lo cuentes a nadie! Y de paso se queda con sus datos personales, nada, una menudencia insignificante. Igual vas a casarte y te encuentras con la sorpresa de que ya lo estás y no te enteraste, pero, ¿a quién no le ha pasado eso alguna vez?
